Exchange Rates and Etsy

As you may know, the prices for our items on Etsy are in US dollars.  This makes sense as the majority of our collectors are based in the United States.

Over the past few weeks there has been a big movement between the US dollar and the Euro (our currency).  What this means is that while our US customers see and pay the same price, our customers in other parts of the world have seen the prices of our Etsy items rise.

In fairness to those customers who don't pay in US dollars, yesterday we took the decision to substantially drop many of our dollar prices on Etsy.  Many items have dropped by $5 -$10.  Some more complex items have dropped by as much as $20.

When pricing our work (never easy in such a wildly incoherent milieu!) we always take into account the time taken to create our pieces, their uniqueness and their complexity.  Our aim is always to provide our loyal collectors with the best possible value without underselling ourselves.

Remember that this isn't a "sale" or a "promo" or a "short term offer".  These prices will remain as long as the dollar continues to kick the Euro's behind!

So now is a great time to have a look at our store and take advantage of some great prices :)

We hope you appreciate this gesture.

Best regards,
Emma and Neil
