Friday Flashback - Chocolate Miniatures!

Today we resurrect a feature that we started when we launched this blog - Friday Flashback!

It's a chance for us to re-visit some of our earlier work and to show newcomers to "Paris Miniatures" some pieces that they may have missed.

Are you ready to go back...?

The pieces we've chosen today all come from June 2009 and all are chocolate-y. It turns out we were in the middle of our annual 'Chocolate Week' (it'll be back this year too).

The first piece is a chocolate lava cake (a fondant au chocolat in French).  This is one of our favourite 'real' desserts too.  Homemade, it's a real treat!

The next is a piece that is based on the chocolate Opéra cake but with a twist. Literally. There it is on the top...

Also cream, caramel, pistachio, real gold leaf

There was also some cream, caramel, pistachio and coffee grains.  The gloss and the texture of the chocolate ganache lines is mouth-watering.

The final piece for today is a one-person version of the above and is topped with caramel and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Do you remember these from - good Lord - FIVE YEARS ago?!

Do let us know if you have a favourite piece or a series that you'd like to be featured in a future Friday Flashback.
